Hey guys we are going to start cleaning up people's sigs as a good deal of them are getting very big and they take up a lot of space and can be annoying when trying to view a thread. We have been pretty hands off for a good while in regards to what people put in their sigs, but its time we started enforcing the part of the TOS that refers to banners and links to non site Sponsors in sigs.

Here is a section of the TOS that deals with sigs -

Only sponsors of TRX450R.ORG may post links to or information about their business in their signatures, messages and/or profiles.

So if you see your sig has been modified, I apologize for the modification but it is something that needs to be done. Especially to the ones that are half a page long. We don't care if you put up pics of your bike, but some people's pics take up almost a whole page. Also it's only fair to the site Sponsors they get their fair share of adverizing that they pay for. Granted they are pretty cool and don't say much about all the non Sponsor adds and banners in people's sigs but I'm sure they wouldn't mind them being removed.

This will be a case by case baisis and we are not picking on any specific person/people. If you see someone elses sig that has not be moddified and you feel it should be please feel free to send the Admin a pm.

Just to help clarify, we dont mind people mentioning what parts are on their bike or who their sponsors are.

Banners, images, logos, etc are not permitted. Links are not permitted. Website urls are not permitted.

Plain text descriptions of parts on your machines or sponsors are OK.

We could try to do something like that. I think everyone agrees those big pics get annoying.

What size do you guys think?

My suggestion a while back was to limit them to the size of a normal "left" member info bar..

I don't think you need to Mikey. I don't want to take it to an anal level. I mean we don't want to take all the fun or creativity out of people's sigs. It's just that some people's sigs were getting a little out of control and needed cleaning up and you have to do things even across the board, as unbiased as you can.

I don't have a problem with any builder or company - Dasa, Rage, WPP, Sparks, Eko, etc. That's why we don't mind plain text descriptions of parts on your machine or your Sponsors. But people's sigs are loaded with banners and links, of non site Sponsors and that's not fair to the Sponsors who pay good money for that right. I think that's a pretty fair statement.

I know some peeps just want to give their builder or Sponsor dues and recognition for the great work they provided them. Or if they gave them free parts or service for races and things like that. Most people are thinking the least I can do is give them a plug in my sig. I understand that, that's why we've been hands off for a bit, but I think it's time to clean things up just a bit.

sounds fair and with programs like piccolo (sp) and tinypic its def a reasonable response and still get to keep pics!, those ginormous pics are annoying....what about the avatars? I have a pic of my polaris and it keeps getting taken out....what up?

We could also do something to pay tribute to the old school members and let anybody who joined in 2006 or older have a higher limit pixel wise and what they can put in their sig. What do you guys think?

Some of the newer members who recently joined end up having these huge pics .

thats a good idea. IMO i think my sig picture is a good size,nits big enough to see but not so big that it waistes a whole page and piss people off.

You think we should have a one or two pic per sig limit? I just sent a guy a pm that had 5 pics in his sig and asked him to reduce it to atleast 3.

Also some people only have one pic in their sig but the thing is freaking huge. Just use microsoft paint to crop it down just a bit. Get rid of the border and size the photo down to just the bike and you will decrease it's size pretty well.

I get to keep my youtube video sigs!!!!! Cool man. And look at the photo Miller used for an example.

I suggest we also remove indecent pictures from people's sigs and avatars also, there are members that are below the age to view indecent photos and those should stay "behind the pits".

Those kinds of things made me turn my signature and avatar features off as that is not why I am on the .org site. There are sites for those kinds of things, I did not think it was this site.

Blackdrag450r I would say it is a bit to big. It's not neccessarily the width that's the issue it's the height. I would ask that you crop it down a bit more.

Like YQR said, mwsartain's sig is a good example of what I would say is not to much. He has three pics in there but they are not very tall which makes it not take up very much page space.

I don't mind them on the PC, but like Gerry said... When I'm on my phone it is a major pain.

I remember reading you saying that that Hundoh dude who was causing all the problems was a friend that you would have upload stuff for you because you had a dial up connection. Based upon your post above is Fast450R the same as the Hundoh dude or whatever his name is or is that just a coincidence that Fast450R also helps you upload stuff?

No I met fast450R on live chat and we are good buddys now, its just recent that he has been helping me do all my uploading. but he is gone today so he cannot help me. I no longer talk to Honduh.
