id put my money on the 11000$ honda.

I got my bike brand new 07 for 6500 otd.. Your not going to get a ktm out of the door for under 10 grand after taxes etc.. ..Give me the honda and the extra 3500$ and i'll show u a bike!

For the price the bikes arent really that impressive, I really think there ugly too. Your just paying for all your aftermarket parts with the bike. If honda put the same ammount of money into the honda then it would be just as good if not better than the KTM, there like 4 grand more, you can get front setup, pipe, minor engine work, cam, tires and more for that + price of a honda

You guys do not knwo how nice those KTMs are.
They are as nice as any 11K Honda.
I know they are almost as good as mine and I wish I only had 11K in it!

i have to admit i do like the ktm's features. the easy acces air filter, the process for changing brake pads. the diff curves you can use by unplugging a connection. the list goes on and on. for the mx'er i really do think these bikes are awesome.

You really think 11G's in a 450R wouldn't stack up to a KTM 525???...... Hard to believe!...

with the price of a spanking new R the rest of the money in parts to make it equal to the KTM the money would go suprisingly fast to 11K

these two are the NEW DOHC 450SX AND 505SX....NOT THE 525XC/450XC SOHC

and if you buy a honda and have to spend 5000 more to get it going WILL it be as good as the KTM COMES out the door ?

if you buy a honda or yfz for 6500 and get a suspension upgrade that would put you over 8500 right there

i know hondas known for there reliability, but i think the 450r fell far from the tree, have ya noticed the amount of bearing failures? and the amount it cost to fix them? is there any other 450 with more break downs? i havent seen them..lol

i like the KTM they have so much power potential, yeah there more expensive but they are nice, 11k is too much for me but id bet i have close to that or more in my honda, without suspension...

yea KBR is right, honda has always been known for fit and finish/attention to detail, and the KTM's are WAY better. they are the exotic sports cars of the off road world. i believe there are like 3 oil filters in the motor.

plus the cool thing is all you have to do is buy the the big bore kit from ktm and it is a DIRECT bolt on for the 450 and viceaversa since the engine cases are the same on both motors.

if i didnt have a huge stock of hondas/honda parts i would lay the money down for one of these in a heartbeat....

Where's the love for the DS 450's? As much or more options than the KTM and over 2 grand cheaper. Now there's a machine that will blow the KTM away at the $11000 mark. Mr. Horsepower says he can stroke them 15mm. That with a 100mm big bore makes 590cc. The thing is going to be a beast. KTM and Can Am are raising the bar for sure. Don't get me wrong, I love TRX450 as well.

Canam? are you serious, lol those things with pipe stock are as fast as a piped 400ex, there turbs, porely built, and break all the time.

Please tell me you're joking! Mark my words, they will put out as much or more power than any 450 ever built. They obviously designed the motor to be built to the sky!

KTM fit and finish is as good or better than any Japaneese quad I have ever seen.

We are talkign Ohlins high dollar suspension, chromoly frame, hyd clutch, floating wave rotors with super trick Magura brake system, s/s lines, adjustable axle, a arms, Razr tires.
If you put a 19" Ohlin shock a atm package on yoru TRX its going to cost you $3K just for that.
$6800 + $3k and your at 9800 with only arms and shocks.

well idk about a mx 450r vs a stock ktm sx would do but in the woods its not about who has the biggest engine or most into it.Its all about suspension having the most powerful engine aint gunna do you any good at all if you can only go one lap before you crap out ive seen stock 400ex's stock exhuast and all with hours of suspesion tuning and see them be first in points in there class.And a lot of it has to do with rider skill you can have the best quad but...well..... ok if you suck you aint gunna win

i agree honda does take care of these problems which is great , but its like that tommy boy sales pitch,To quote the late, great Tommy Boy, "Hey, if you want me to take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed, I will. I got spare time." " lol not that honda is crap, i love mine and wouldnt have it any other way maybe a second bike like a ktm or something

i love handa no doubt. never a problem with my 450 or the wifes 400... my friend has a well built ltr 450. he went to a race and there was a kid with a new ktm450 in his class. all this kid had done was removed the baffle in the exhuast. my friend has a high comp. piston, cams,programmer, yoshi full exhaust,suspension, etc, etc, etc, my buddy said the ktm walked by him like he was sitting still.. pissed him right off. like i said i'm die hard honda, but those ktm's were built well and they can move on a track...

come on the ktm is bad ass... u cant deny it.... i love my cuz ktm dirtbike there well built... but come one the 11k who really can afford that??? once u get done modding it to ur liking ur at least 15k... thats serious money right there... unless ur independently weathly (which i sure as hell arent) who wants that price tag...

i would love to have one but i LOVE My honda and up here where i live my honda rules lol...

u guys gotta do some shopping! the ktm 450sx is selling at some places here in phoenix arizona for 7500 OTD. They are letting go of older 08 450xc's for 7k OTD with 1500 worth of KTM parts for free of your choice!

its probably gonna be my next quad to be honest. Im working on a sponsorship deal right now and hoping it comes thru. But why buy a honda that needs LT, skidplates, steering stab., ETC ETC ETC when you can buy a KTM for the same price and it comes with all of that! and more.

i love my honda but they need to step up their game, ill hold out to see if the '10 450r is FI, if so maybe ill go honda again.

I bleed Red (honda RED) and I'd still buy a KTM over the Honda any day of the week.... if I could afford it.

I love the ktms...i rode my buddys 525 with 570 bb kit and full yosh exhaust and it is awesome. So much power and they are really comfortable in my opinion and they are just about ready to race when you get them
