I bought my white 2007 honda trx450er in February of this year. It was used but only had 10-20 hours on it. The next day I bought a venom pipe. I couldn't stand how the stock one sounded. I did some research on exhaust and wanted to buy the venom one. I like how quiet it is and I heard great things about it. I liked that they were right in Michigan because I received it the very next day.





The next thing I bought was a K & N air filter and outerwear. I rode it for a month or two like that and then decided I wanted to be faster. At the beginning of May I had the following done: 14.25:1 piston, port and polish, hrc stage 2 cam, bored cylinder. I got all that back from Venom very quickly. In the meantime I had purchased a direct drive lockout clutch too.



The first day riding it with the mods I go to West Michigan Sand Dragway for test and tune all day. First time on a real drag strip and these were the times I got.

The next day was the Hill Climb on Mt. Baldy at Silver Lake. Here were the results of my class and videos:

3rd - Steph - trx470 - 4.4

Then we came to the conclusion that I need better tires. The 20 x 10s weren't quite good enough. I tried out Nick's tires which were 21 x 8 ten paddle and did much better. I ended up buying some 22 x 11 x 8 ten paddle 72ro triple buffs. I'm really happy with these tires. Just last weekend I bought some smoothie front tires which I love! They make for a much better ride.

oh yeah...a little more background. I started really riding about a year ago. All last year I had an 06 400ex that I rode around Silver Lake. It was fun for stunting but it was never good enough. When I got my tax return I was going to buy some 450 shocks and a bunch other things to make it more like a 450. My list was over $1000 so I decided to just trade it in and get a 450...I'm 100% happier and I'd never go back.

I've been to the Mio trail system twice, Ogemaw tracks once, The Mounds a couple times and in the winter I went to an indoor track quite a bit... but in the summer I'm pretty much strictly Silver Lake. I have gone to WMSD once and that was alot of fun. I'm going to the ATV Bash there June 26th-28th...I'm really excited for that. Nick and I are planning on entering in a couple classes.

Thats really cool great job on getting all those pics, I would never have the patience to document all that. Keep tearin up the strip you seem to be pretty good at it!!!!!!!!

It would be so cool to have a woman that loves to race, years ago mine used to, now she says it is to bumpy and has not rode in a few years.

I am so jealous I have not made it up to Silver Lake this year yet, normally I would have been there 3 -4 times by now. Do you like the header wrap ? I just got a venom pipe an am thinking about wrapping it.

Its suppose to help performance wise but it doesn't stay as cool as I thought it would. The head pipe still burns holes in my pants lol. My pipe gets so hot it has burned through the tape in one spot. I haven't seen anyone else's do that though

Try carbon fiber heat shield they are awesome. Spendy but awesome.

I have some but usually don't wear them when drag racing. It does solve that problem except I usually wear over the boot pants...

Its alive! After a week of not being able to get it start it fired up last night. The thing that sucks is that it has the HRC cam back in it. No one believed me when I said the HCII from Nick's '04 would work in mine so when it didn't fire up they thought it was the cam. Well with the HRC back in it, it still wouldn't fire. Turns out the timing was just off one tooth even though we swore each of the hundred times we lined it up it was right.

It looks like my brother and I will be racing saturday at WMSD. Would like to see how the times compare with Bobs family raceway. My best time at Bobs last weekend was 5.23 at 58 mph with 1.90 60'.

I was wondering how much it was to race this Saturday the 21st. I'd guess its $50...

Its $50 + pit pass($15 I think) to run the normal race. Theres also a trophy race this Saturday that costs $20 + pit pass to enter. The troophy race is for a trophy only, no payout. No points racers are allowed to race in it. Its an atempt to get new racers at the track.

That sounds like its for me Do you know how many places would get a trophy?

Ahhh, a little water crossing, definitly not one of my better moves. We were up there a couple of weekends ago. And I thought I would be a smarta$$ on my banshee and try skipping across the water. I did it a few times and it was pretty cool feeling, gliding across the water. Then I must of thought I was a pro, and tried the long stretch, I was in 5th gear pinned, It was going good until about the end, when I got completly sideways. I dont know what saved my butt, but I got it straitend out somehow, Just as I was hitting the sand. But it was one of those feeling's that this is gonna HURT!!!! So I put the banshee away, and got the 450 out and just stuck to racing (on sand)......

yea sir... but she is back to stock... well the HRC kit is still on, I was thinking about putting the spray back on but I don't want to take the time lol. but anything is better then that turd LTR... what a dog that was

The strip definitly wasnt dry this weekend. Went up saturday for the day. Had a bad day though, My oem big bore cylinder cracked. And the real bad news, we are leaving next friday for the dunes for 10 days. Might have to get the banshee out...

I ran at WMSD saturday, had 3 runs, none were very good. My best time was 5.30 with missing a shift.
