I don't mean to be the party pooper but does anyone else think that some of the overly large signature pictures are distracting if not annoying. Now don't get me wrong, i'm all about showing off your baby, but a nice avatar with some gallery pictures work great. Even a 400x400 pic is great, but do we really need a 1024x768 picture of your 450r? It takes longer time to load threads, it takes away from your 2 line message with a picture that fills my screen, etc.
I'm really not in a pissy mood, it's just been bothering me for a while. Anyone feel the same?

I definitely think it is annoying if the picture is huge. I have no problem with one picture at a decent size, but some are just too big.

I agree 10000000000%
Some of the sig pics are so large that it adds a (left to right) scroll bar to my screen. And some people even have 2 full size pictures in there sig.
Anyways, I have a pretty fast connection so I could live with it but do think they clutter alot of the threads.
I think a sig pic like Danny has above is a perfect size.

OK OK I have a problem... I just have this thing for large pictures.

as a general rule of thumb, your sig should run about the length of your member name down to your member number....thats the new standard lol

which coming from me means absolutely nothing

I agree with you miller. A perfect size is the length of your info. I didn't want to start flaming at the people on the board here but it's been bugging me.

If you wonder if you sig is too big, it probably is. A lot of them can be shortened a ton also. No one cares what grips you have, what stickers are on your plastic or what bar pad is on your quad. Just my 2 cents

If the whole board was to make a general rule on the size of your signatures i would have no problem following it... however if the way it is now bugs you so much like i said earlier you can turn off the signatures...

I don't mean to flame at all. I am saying this with a totally calm voice so don't think i'm pissed. I love reading sig's as much as the next guy. It's nice to see what mods some people have and to see pics of all the different ways we can make our quads stand out. Because of that, i don't want to turn sig's off. I like seeing them, I just don't want them to be bigger than my desktop background!

i like looking at sigs it helps show what people are running and what is popular. and if i have a question about the part then i can PM them. also posting your jetting seems to be a good idea. limit some of those jetting topics. i dont mind the mods lists just the huge pictures, they are a p.i.t.a to load

I just turn mine off. With all the useless info that is posted in the sigs anyways, it's just as easy. Noboby wants to see the pictures of the inside of your cases on EVERY single post you make.
Nobody also wants to see that you have a K&N filter, or a kill switch, or that you are running Engine Ice, or what you are planning on buying. None of that stuff really matters.

mine was big, but ifelt it was too big so i just took it of and added my ATV district tag so if you want the pics just click the tag and there ya go
everyone should have a atv district tag, that lists your mods and your pics and its not too big or alot to load
IMO we should all have just a atv district tag instead of a sig at all
lol maybe the org might get mad because atv district is another forum started by one of our members buts i love the atv setups

To me, sigs should be short and to the point. The important stuff is cool to list, you know, the expensive stuff that we've got the money in. Ported head, 480 kits, billet crank, stuff like that...
But when you have a 5x7 photo of your bike that pops up upon every post, that's just a little to much, plus it takes up extra bandwidth.
The admin should set it to where you can only have a small sig picture, 2x3 max size.

I think a good size is about what mine is...all the mods are listed in order horizontal not vertical so it saves a lot of space...some of the sigs with 2 full size pics and a vertical mod list are extremely annoying.

Your sig is a perfect example of what is a good sig. It lists your mods and has a pic of your quad, yet it still isn't bigger than your user info on the left side of the post. Great job!

this and hondaman01 sigs should be the ideal sigs that everyone should do... especially when i print out a thread i need for a project i am working on and is mostly large pics of same quad, if posts more than once in thread, wastes ink and paper
