my friend has a 02 raptor 660 (yamaterd) ...when its cold it will not start unless you tow start it then it starts right up. once its warmed up it starts fine.

well the main problem is that it's a yamaha. the best fix for this problem is to have it magically turn into a honda.

in all seriousness though, sounds like the exact same thing my R was doing before my battery completely sh!t itself. eventually it will get to where it won't even hold charge, even after it's been running. by then, the battery will be shot, tell him to try a new one before it gets worse, or invest in a trickle charger

i see where your coming from...but his battery spins the engine over fine. i`ll try putting a charger on it and starting it when its cold though if it starts we will know its the battery. long live the honda though i have had to tow 2 yamahas this week on my 450r!
