Hey everyone i need some help i am working on my brothers scrambler and it wont start! It will if i use starting fluid!!! I have completely taken apart the carb and cleaned it, It is getting fuel into the carb just cant firgure out why it wont start???
thanks jon
i have a 99 scrambler 400 2 stroke 4x4. I couldnt get it to start and after ruling out everything else i found the the needle seat was damaged and letting too much fuel into the motor. I guess the quy who owned it before me didn't have the air filter on right because there was a lot of sand in the carb. I went to the local polaris dealership and it cost me like $30 for a new needle and seat. I also got a k&n with an outwear to make sure it won't happen again.
PS. Also you might wanna think about making some sort of case saver. I had a chain break on myn at when my girlfriend was riding it at the dunes and it put a huge hole in the transmission case. It is really a pain to get the trans out, you gotta take the motor out first and luckly my dads friend welded the hole shut cuz the polaris shot wanted like 800 for a new case. Just a tip.
