JUST SOLD MY HONDA TRX450 TODAY AND TOOK THE MONEY AND WENT AND PUT IT RIGHT DOWN ON A BRAND NEW CAN AM DS450X TODAY! CANT WAIT FOR THEM TO GET THEM IN BECAUSE I GET THE FIRST ONE AND I CANT WAIT TO RIDE IT! ANYONE ELSE HAVE ONE YET?

I seen one yesterday and was able to sit on it and look it over very well... It is a very comfy bike only thing i didnt like was the feel of the handle bars... Engine makes a rattle kinda like the old cannondales but nothing major... I think it will be a great ride and cant wait for some ride reports from you... That one sold while i was there and i blieve they got 7800 out of it...

i seen the regular ds450 friday i liked it and everything but felt really cramped 6'2 290 doesnt help though nice quad and it comes with a extra oil filter too, no wonder they charge 8000 its got a filter...lol

i had the oportunity to take the first dealer demo sent out for a good thrashing on. they are very peppy for a stock bike. put a hurtin on a couple piped and jetted 450r's with it on the pavement/gravel and sand. they wheelie kinda high because of how the weight is so centralized. its def a moto built bike through and through. it jumps and lands like no other stock bike i have ever ridden. the throttle response is unreal. takes no time to smack the 10,800 rpm rev limiter. i would suggest thinking about having a bigger front sprocket on order. they top out way too fast. def. a neat bike!!! congrats!

345lbs when my 06 trx450er was 367 lbs. At the dealer I was picking one up and it feels like nothing!

I FINALLY GOT MY DS450 BUT I DECIDED NOT TO GET THE X VERSION... THE THING IS SO NASTY AND IM GLAD I GOT IT! NEVER RODE A QUAD THAT WAS THIS AMAZING! SUSPENSION IS 100% BETTER THAN HONDA, YAMAHA, AND SUZUKI. HANDLEING IS GREAT AND HAS LIKE NO KICKBACK IN THE STEERING!

HONDA HAS TO REDUE THE 450 TO BE COMPETATIVE WITH THIS!

NO I DIDNT PAY FOR THE X, I JUST PUT MONEY DOWN AND IT AND SWITCHED IT OVER TO THE REGULAR ONE. I ALREADY HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE TIE RODS BUT THE DEALER SAID I WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO HAVE THE PROBLEM. THE TIE ROD ENDS DEVELOPED PLAY AFTER JUST 3 HRS SO IT HAD TO BE A DEFECT FROM THE FACTORY BUT THEY ARE REPLACED. I ONLY HAVE A PICTURE OF IT AT A PIT RIGHT NOW.

Sorry to tell you but it isnt falling apart. I though it wasnt normal but it is! My honda had alot more problems than this. My honda had like 3 or 4 recalls! Honda will never ride like this thing does

I wasn't implying it will fall apart..........just curious. I have heard rumblings of some fasteners backing out on various DS450's. No need to get defensive.............I am sure it is a fine machine. But just in case it does have problems, hopefully CanAm will step to the plate like Honda does.

WELL IM DEF THE PERSON TO TEST THIS MACHINE.... I WAS ABLE TO BREAK EVERYTHING ON THE HONDA WITH NO PROBLEM AND IVE BEEN BEATING ON THIS PRETTY HARD SO FAR AND NOTHING YET. THE MOTOR PULLS GREAT FOR A STOCK QUAD!

I CANT WAIT TO PUT IT ON THE DYNO SOON! THEN IM GONNA BUY A POWER COMMANDER AND TUNE IT ON THE DYNO AND SEE WHAT KIND OF POWER I CAN GET JUST PUTTING THAT ON.... YAY

I cant wait till you figure out how to stop with the damn cap locks. So far in 2 races here in Phoenix the Can Am in both occasions lost its rear brakes within 2 laps. Other than that, Frederick looked damn good on it. Personally... i have zero interest in the Can Am. I rather spend 2k less on a Honda, and use that 2k for some nice suspension. I dont care how good the suspension feels... every pro out there had a nice set of Evols up front with a podium in the rear.

we have 2 X's and 0ne yellow where i work.. to much snow to take it out for a ride.. feels comfy to sit on.. not sure if i like the looks to much.. maybe it will grow on me... the motor does make some differant kind of rattle.. nothing and good pipe won't cover ! but yamaha has it's own noise to i guess... all in all it seems like a good quad.. just way to new for me to want one..

I agree. Canam has been out of the race scene for awhile, so I personally would wait at least a year to see how things wash out. I am glad to see them back in it, hopefully they can help raise the bar like KTM has.

Our dealer sold theirs within 1/2 hour, but I did like how you sit on it & how it looks. The bars which will probably get replaced anyhow looked kinda cheap other than that it appears to have a good fit & finish. The motor sounds nice & not noisy. I must have forgotten how wimpy stock exhaust sounds? Lots of new ideas hope they work out. They said the x will be rare & for the $800 or plus it cost I think you are just as well off with the DS450.

the reason the pros dont have problems with the a-arms is they use aftermarket chromoly

I guess you didnt read all the post because I found out that it was very little play and it was normal.

But im taking my quad to glamis over easter break!

Just came back from glamis this weekend, and with my friend that just got a ds450.

First scary part were the bolts in the caliper backed out by themselves, somehow. He said at first it was feeling weird and then nothing at all. So might want to watch out for that.

And the next problem was a bent tie rod, just landed a little weird on a jump and it buckled, wasn't much of a hard landing at all.

Just a couple things to watch out for, I hope BRP solves these things for the next years models

Yeah every company has some flaws each year even after they been out for a little bit but I got mine hoping that nothing major would go wrong. When a little thing breaks, that means you go get a nice aftermarket one!

I was riding mine pretty hard friday and saturday and nothing broke yet and im def the one to test a quad and push it to the limit. All I ever did was break things on my honda.
