I have a 2007 TRX450ER with the HRC kit, Two Brothers M7 exhaust and I notice that if I hit the throttle from idle real fast it will die or hesitate. I was wondering if that is what the QUICKSHOTS are made for, is it to eliminate the idle to quick accelliration problem. Is anyone else having that kind of a problem??? I know the 2006 Carb is different then the 2007. Has anyone tried or is using a Wirtz Quickshot or a Boyesen QuickShot for any TRX450R??? I desparately want to get my Quad to it's best performance before Dune season so any input would be greatful, Thanks.

Do not waste your money on those. I correctly tuned FCR carb will not have hesitation. I have the same set up as you and am having the same problem. I have researched and found out that going down to a 35# leak jet solves the problem for some. I should be getting my jet in the mail in a while. I will let you know if it helps. I would rather try a 5 dollar jet before dropping the cash on one of those quick shot things.

This is the second time I have heard about this leak jet option but I am having, one problem what the hell is a leak jet????? I called the dealership and ask the service department and they had no idea. Is there another name/word for leak jet is it the accelerator pump bypass jet or maybe the starter jet or the slow jet?? I am more then willing to try that first before spending all that money but I am not sure what a leak jet is any info would be great, Thanks.

The leak jet is located in the bowl of the carb and is sometimes called the accelerator pump bypass jet as you mentioned above.

Are you sure the HRC kit was installed correctly? I do not recall ever reading that someone added the HRC kit and a pipe to a stock R and experianced a bog. Did you install the kit yourself? Are you sure the HRC jetting was installed? Air box cover removed?

Most people that have the bog which is sometimes cured by decreasing the leak jet size are using FCR carbs from other bikes which requires tuning the AP squirt to match there application. The leak jet controls the volume of the AP squirt, going lower in jet size will increase the volume.

Provide some more info and I'm sure org members will help you figure things out.

Yes I installed it myself and yes to all the questions above but I have not installed the HRC Cam yet it is getting installed tomorrow. I am hoping that once the cam is in then the bog will stop. If not then I am going to try fine tuning it with the accelerator pump link screw (dealer suggestion 1/16 of a turn at a time) and if that doesn't help then I will try the leak jet one step down (right now it is a #55) and if that doesn't help then I will be back online asking questions again. Hopefully the HRC cam installation will do the trick. I will keep everyone informed as to my progress, Thanks
