There is a company claming to wake up 5-10 hp out of 05 yfz450 by advancing the timing and using there jets, needles, etc. So my question is does it work? or is it a waste of $200?????????

Sounds like you read the newest Dirt Wheels!!!

Yes- changing the timing/ rejet/ open airbox (YFZ) is the equivilent to putting a HRC kit on a HONDA.

NO- its not worth $200 for some kit they put together and bought ad space in Dirt Wheels, when you can do it with about $10 worth of tools and a 2 or 3 jets from your dealer.

that website is kinda confusing

"If you want to cure your 2006 to 2008 YFZ450 of that irritating bog and that mid range stutter this is the kit for you. The Powerback kit for the YFZ incorporates cam timing and proper jetting to breathe life into your quad while still remaining civilly quiet . 12 Horsepower to be exact. That’s 6Hp for 100 dollars!"

Price $149.95

Availability: Usually Ships in 1 to 2 Business Days

I would suggest yfzcentral.com they will have lots of info on the cam mod. I believe you are just advancing or retarding the exhaust cam one tooth.

Yea....this is the YFZ cam-mod

Its been around ever since the 04 came out.

Its free.

You can find how to do it on YFZ central.....its very easy and it works.

The only money you need to spend is on a few jets and a NCVQ needle. about $25
