Hey i'm lookin to get a used raptor 660 (03-05) for my pops and little sister. I wanted to get some of your opinion, or should i just try to get a used yfz. I'm not looking for speed just a good all around bike. Since my dad is 65 i doubt he'll be going that fast. thanx

I heard they have tranny problems.
I'd buy a 400ex before buying a 660. They a very reliable and almost as fast as a 660.

the 400ex would be a great fit, respectable performance, good handleing, and one of the most reliable atv's ever made

/\ haha!
But if you want to get a 660, stay away from the 01's. You'll need a new one way bearing and their will most likely be tranny problems. Been there, sold that.

The 660 is a good cruiser. My biggest complaint is how tall you sit in the saddle.
I think the 660 is a great pops bike, plenty of power and handles well enough if you aren't too aggressive.

i don't know very much about 660s(my blood runs red), but my dad, who is 65 also has a 99 400ex. great bike for him, you can lug it around in any gear. its not real tippy if your not riding aggressive. and if you want you can through your leg over it and toss it like a rag doll and have a good ol time.

i had a raptor before i got the 450r and my room mate currently has a raptor. seems like we were always working on one or the other, and the worst part is that everything is a PITA to get at on the raptor ...with the exception of the oil filter.
