Just my 2 cent worth......
I just got an Edelbrock carb with the twist throttle ("BAD A$$"....is an understatement) for my 06 YFZ. The instructions were missing a important part... when the TORS (throttle overide) is unpluged, it is required to jump the plug on the bike to bypass this system (it will not start otherwise..... Belive me) other than that very easy to understand. Very easy to adjust the carb also..... Edelbrock claimes a solid 5hp, "I don't belive it....." "Its gotta be more like 7hp" thats coming from my a$$ dyno (seat of my pants). I have an VCP exaust and aftermarket airfilter with no lid and a bunch of nonpower add ons. Very impressed with the VCP exaust which I guess is no longer available (I'll have to hit up mixxer to find out more). I'm gonna have to hit him (Venom (mixxer) up for a port-n-polish job to give it that extra lil umph. Mixxer is the bomb IMO and I wish there was a lil more info on yammis than there is (I know this is an TRX.ORG site) but got to thank him for the great contribution to all of us.

I have a friend who also has the Edelbrock carb and twist throttle on his Z400 and he had the same impressions, performance-wise. The gas line is HUGE on his. Not sure if it came with the carb or not, but it is like 1/2" ID!

Agreed that Mixxer knows his stuff and it seems like I am always learning something new when I read his posts. I know he will be getting my buisness when it's time for my 06er to be rebuilt. 477 14:1 port and polish should make me happy and in the mid 50's. For a little while anyways....

Yeah, my carb came with a large fuel line also. I just took my bike out yesterday and what a difference "WOW"..... the twist is something to get used to especialy with the extra power, I got such a huge wrist pump.....and the throttle lock.... I plan on mixxer doing work for me also, but I think I'll be waiting a lil longer now with the extra power and throttle that I have to get used to. I'm also gonna do the cam mod that will give free extra HP. Plus I'm look'n for a used head to send mixxer so I have two options.

So whats up with the Edel carb? Used? For the yfz450? twist, thumb or no throttle with it? and used I assume... this sounds like a great deal, I paid $431 for mine (to my door) new....

I was just wondering how you jumped the TORS? I just bought my edelbrock and my quad won't start.
