Well, since I had a hard time getting all the info I was looking for in one place, I want to put together a paddle tire weight list. This is what I have so far from other members posts - as well as my own measurements.

21x12x8 Padla Brats Comp cut on 8x8 .125 rims = 9.5 lbs

20X10X8 6 paddle std buff Haulers on 8X7 .125 rims = 10.25 lbs - Old style Haulers

21X12X8 6 paddle std buff Haulers on 8X8 .125 = 11.5 lbs - Old Style Haulers

20x10x8 btb 8 paddle Gliders on .125's = 12 lbs

21x12x8 btb 8 paddle Gliders on .125's = 12 lbs

21x12x8 8 Pad Gliders std. buff (significant wear), 8x8 .125 = 12 lbs 2 oz

22x11x8 7 paddle glider standard buff on douglas 8x8 .160 wheels = 12 lbs 3 oz

21x8x10 Dune Tracker front, 10x6 2+4 DWT Black .160 = 12 lbs 12 oz

21x12x8 7 paddle std buff Extremes on 8x9 .125 rims = 13.0 lbs

20x10x8 6 paddle std buff Extremes on 8x8 .125 rims = 13.0 lbs

21x12x8 8 paddle Gliders on .160's = 13.50 lbs

21x12x8 8 paddle Hauler/Glider mix on .160's = 13.50 lbs

20x11x8 8 paddle Sand Devils on .160's = 13.75 lbs

22x11x8 8 paddle Haulers std buff on 8x8 Douglas .125's = 14 lbs

20x10x8 6 Pad Haulers std buff , 8x8 DWT Red .190 = 14 lbs 13 oz

20x11x10 Sand Skate II's on 10x8 .125 rims = 14.5 lbs

20-11-8 Sand Sharks on .160 rims = 14.75 lbs

20x11x10 8 Pad STU Sand Skate II, , 10x9 3+6 .125 = 15 lbs 7 oz

21x12x8 8 paddle Desert Storms on .190's = 16 lbs

20x11x10 Sand Sharks on 10x9 .125 rims = 16.75 lbs

20x10x10 8 Pad Hauler Extreme std. buff , 10x9 3+6 DWT Red .190 = 16 lbs 14 oz

21x12x8 Cheng Shin Dune Slider, 8x8 .125 = 17 lbs 10 oz

20x11x10 8 Pad Sand Sharks , 10x9 3+6 DWT Black .160 = 17 lbs 11 oz

20x11x8 GBC Sand Devils on .160 = 18 lbs

20x10x10 Geckos on .125 rims = 19.25 lbs

20/11/10 7 paddle Extremes on Douglas RED label with OMF beadlocks = 19.50 lbs

If you can add more to this list, please do. I will add it to the top as info is added...

For all the std buff entries, it seems that an Ultra-light buff will drop the weight by 2 - 3 lbs...

20x10x10 geckos on douglas .125 rims are 19.25 lbs each. Just sold mine, so i know.

and my comp cut Brats...21/12/8 on 8x8 Douglas .125 were only 9.5#......you mentioned 10.5#... what wheels were you using? just curious....

Chuck.....I just weighed my Brats again.....

9.6 and 9.7# each after adding Slime...... on a digital 10# scale...so it should be accurate.....

on 21/12/8 comp cuts mounted on Douglas .125 (blue label) 8x8 wheels using metal valve stems.....

p.s...thanx for starting this thread.....great info......Greg

Chuck

the weight you have for the 21X12X8 6 paddle haulers, which I believe are mine, are not available anymore from Skat in the type of tire carcass I have. New haulers in this size and paddle configuration may weigh ~ 1 lb more

Chuck, keep your first post updated with the info as people give it to you and I'll sticky this at the top for a reference. thumbsup.gif

Edit: oh, it already is, thanks Greg. Anyways, guess my job's done here... sleeping.gif

You do realize that "pounds of air" as measured in Pounds Per Square Inch (PSI) has almost no bearing on the actual weight of the tire....

but realistically...one could assume roughly 5psi in most of these tires......
1fast450
i know this is for paddle tires but does anyone have the weights of 20" razor2 rears on stock wheels compared to stock wheels and tires?
jcf1977
Good info, thanks............

what about 20/11/10 or 20/11/8 itp sand stars

I guess I could unmount n weigh...lol

your supposed to use an 8x10 wheel with that tire for it to perform the best. thats what fullerton sand tires told me.

No..8x8 is good, 8x7 probably better.. You want the tire to balloon out and kinda float on the sand.

being 21x12 its already like a balloon. you dont put a 12inch wide tire on a 7inch wide rim. that will make it skinny looking

who cares about tire look it's about performance ALOT of pppl have 10tire on 8 and 6 inch rims

we are talking about a 12inch wide tire. and i have a set of padla brats and they are on a 10inch wide rims. it will not perform the same on a 7inch rim.
h0nda450mainiac
why would you want such a wide tire???/
so you can turn slide is all i can think of ?? and i can spin in a perfect doughnut with 22x8x8
hawk-trx
a wide tire has more paddle in contack with the sand so it gives better traction. and traction is the whole point od a paddle tire.

if fullerton's is selling them on 10" wheels he mush have changed his thinking. in the past fullerton's has always recomended 8x8, my buddy got 9's because he was out of 8's.

I run my 21 12 8 8 paddle haulers on 8x7 rims... Works good IMO.

so your saying 20x10x10 has more traction than 22x8x8?????/ width isn't the only determining factor for traction
hawk-trx
yes i would. an 8" wide tire would dig a trench unless ran with 1-2# pressure. the 10 wide tire would have a wider foot print, but i dont really like you example cause you are compairing apples and oranges.

a 21-12-8 would give more traction then a 21-10-8
if you took the same tire and ran it at 3# then ran it at 15# which do you think would hook up better?
broncbob
I may be way off on my paddle tie thinking, but here is my thoughts.....

The smaller the wheel size is from the tire width, the taller the tire gets as well as narrowing up. You can use this to help you in many ways, say you can't quite pull a paddle count, you may be able to use a wheel that is smaller to take some of the bite out of the tire and make it work for you. It also works the other way as well, the wider wheel will cause the paddles to see more sand contact, thus hooking better. Air pressure has to do with it as well.

I Don`t know what you run your paddles in, a smaller wheel like a few others that know whats up have said makes your tire ballon up witch helps it dig to the wetter sand where the real traction is in the sand, for draging and hill shotting anyway.
