best fix is to put honda trx 450R brakes on the front, they are relatively cheap from the dealer.

what he wants to know, is how to get better feel and response out of his brakes. He just installed new pads all the way around, but when you squeeze the lever, it dosen't lock them up. How do you recommend to fix this problem?

One person said to go with braided steel brake lines, because the factory ones expand under pressure. Is this true, or just a line of bull pucky? Seems to me like something else is wrong if he can't lock them up. Any Ideas?????????

My guess is your master cyclinder is shot...

My cuz's Z front brakes work just as good as mine...good enough to do stoppies or endows or w.e you wanna call em...

Make sure your not leaking any fluid onto the brakes.

Can you pull the brakes all the way to the bars? You should not be able to...Atleast everything i have ridden gets very stiff and unless you hold it for a period of time you will not get the handle to touch the bars.

what he said is true, when i tore apart my bike to get it gusseted and PC'ed, the rear brakes sat for about a month. When we went to put it back together it had no rear brakes. You could push the lever all the way down. We had to bleed and bleed them and finnaly just replaced the cylinder, i dont know what went wrong. But they are good now smile.gif

what kind of brake pads did you buy....I found that some of the aftermarket ones simply dont grab as well.....I replaced the pads on the front of my 450r with some other then stock and they dont stop near as well now....I will always go with stock pads now...
