PIMPIN 06' 450R
Well...what the hell, it has been like a day and no one has replied? c'mon guys, would i have been good with an LT-Z

smile.gif Suzuki sucks in my Opinion, but hey you're going to get a diffrent reply from everyone...

From every Motocross race I've been to, the Ltz450's have came in 2nd to last or last place.. but hey it all depends who's riding the quad right?
PIMPIN 06' 450R
True, but it dosent ask my question, what is the diff, quality, would i have been satisfied with a 400, im only 14, i dont know much in the quad world unsure.gif

i think you made a very wise choice. my cousins have a stock ltz and in my opinion it is too narrow. the honda is deffinetely wider and the 06 has many new features and upgrades that in my opinion would kill any ltz 400 stock for stock. you can also do a green wire mod on the '06 450r which will give you 1000 more rpm which would kinda take away the need for a rev box (kinda) also the hondas seem to be the most realiable and most durable. i have had my '05 for one year and i have never ever had a problem. everyone i know with 450rs and the '06s has never had problems. the hondas seem to dominate the SCORE baja races in mexico which are 250, 500, and 100 miles long. they always come in first oir second places. you will be more then happy with your '06 450r. you will find more tha enough info here on the 450R's and don't worry bout it anymore. you got the superior quad over all others in my opinion 1022.gif sorry fot the long post. hope this helps.

how long have you had it? If its still under warranty and it was mine I would have it at the dealer I bought it from first thing in the morning.
jimmy450r
dont second guess your choice,
try running the 450r with only half throttle...............now you know what the z400 had.
now take some corners and lean to the outside of the corners......... now you know how the z400 handles...............now take an extra 50 pounds and strap in across your waist and hit a few jumps..................now you know how the suspension is on the z400...............then sit on the gas tank and try to pull 5th gear wheelies.............you get the picture.
IMO you just got blessed with one of the baddest atvs offered on the planet.................turn around and smile at the guys that bought the z400s because they are all behind you, and wishing they had a 450r.
now the z400 is a good trail bike, liquid cooled, with reverse.
the 450r is an all out racer..........tell us why you chose the 450R?
PIMPIN 06' 450R
To CLEATUS, yes, ive already taken it down to the dealer to get it serviced and re-jetted.
To JIMMY450R, why? you ask, because i really only had a say in buying it, as i said, im only 14 and dont have 7500$ to pay for the thing, my dad does. He really didnt want me to get a 450 and all but i convinced to get it anyways. The LT-Z was my first choice just because ive riddin my freinds and liked it but what do i know, my dad also liked the 450 so im very lucy to have one smile.gif , so i guess i choose it because my dad liked it tongue.gif

Your dad is a wise man!

I got a Z450 and I have yet to be beat or holeshotted by a 450r..I'm only a B rider though.. Not sayin a 450r is a bad quad at all!! I still wanna upgrade to one, but the guy who said the Z450's always come in last.. post-696-1105671116.gif

Well diffrent people have diff opinions, but like i said, i wasgonna get one
XRideRed450R
i don't want to sound like a @$$ but isnt it a ltr450?
AL Elks
It's definately an LTR0450. I have both the LTZ400 and the LTR-450. Now my LTZ has tons of mods and in a straignt line I'm pretty sure it'll walk all over my LTR. I plan on finding out jus that this weekend at the dragstrip. Now on the track it's just the opposite. No stock sportquad even comes close to how the LTR handles and I've ridden them all. Once the aftermarket parts start coming in it's going to get real interesting.

Oh yea, and believe me if you keep the TRX at half throttle you've lost the race with the LTZ.

I just think that it's fantastic that Suzuki stepped up the game because now Honda and Yamaha will step it up and we all win when that happens.
PIMPIN 06' 450R
Well i was at some dunes out where i live and i have a stock 06 r with nerf-bars and nothing eles. There was another kid on an LTZ with paddles front/back; exaust; and i over heard their parents saying that it had a jet kit on it. i was on the big dragstrip. I raced him and a what looked like a stock YFZ, bith definatly got the holeshot on me, but by half way i took the LTZ and was head to head with the YFZ. I'd say i ws pretty fast.

I raced my Z416 in my first ever race 2 summers ago and got the holeshot against the rest of the competition which was all blue or red 450s, I came in 4th, but it was my first race, I was just stoked to get the holeshot against the trx's and yfz's................

What others are thinking..........
You need to calm down and not DEMAND answers from people. It sounds like you are worried about your purchase and because of this, that 450r will have to run purfect all it's life for you to be happy. Poor thing, such high expectations. I don't want to jump on a 14 year old, put you really need to calm down and not be so rude when YOU are the one that needs help. Answers will come. post-696-1105671726.gif

YOU KNOW THIS WAS LIKE 8 MONTHS AGO HE POSTED THIS?
Donoyfz450
^^^ What he said!! Plus hes comparing a Z400 to a 450R and some of you Einsteins are bringing up the LTR450.

Not to mention it sounds like this is the kids first quad. He has no business on a 450. Just cause hes rode "his friends" doesnt make him ready. I may stand alone on this but I think all parents should do alot more research before handing their children High Performance quads. Thats why we have so many problems with kids getting hurt,,,,Lack of training/protection and riding quads over their skill level.

lol, I know it's old, but these non-Honda forums don't get any attention. smile.gif
