You are doing well with your project , and I think you can do what suit your riding style .. BC it is your Quad and YOU will Ride it and YOU have the right to do what ever you want to do with it .. Listen to the others but take what you THINK IT IS RIGHT.
You ARE JUST STARTING WITH THIS PROJECT AND YOU WILL KEEP UPGRADING .. BUT YOU SHOULD HAVE A PLAN .. DONT THROUGH YOUR MONEY ON TESTING .. BECUASE THE TEST'S ARE DONE BY OTHERS , SOME ONE FAILED AND START TO MAKE OVER .. AND NO ONE ON THE EARTH KNOW'S EVERY THING .. AND NO ONE WAS BORN WITH A HELMET ON HIS HEAD ...!!! START FROM WHERE THE OTHERS ENDS .. ASK YOUR SELF ( WHAT I WANT ) ( WHEN , WHERE, HOW , WHO , WHAT ) THEY ARE GOOD QUESTIONS TO START WITH.
it is just an opinion you can take it or leave it
what I understand from this project that you are looking for a sand quad or a hill shooter..
if you think that you will not clear big airs on dunes .. change the heavy I shocks with the flot Fox air shocks .. you will loose weight and still you can adjust them for your riding style .. they are also much lighter than marvin's
+3" is good idea , but if you think that you will go big you should make it +5" over stock ....
With (BIG) I mean if you will stroke it over 520cc... there are two stroker cranks available right now and you can say ready to go ..
the desert rat 68mm short rod and the boomer 70.4mm long rod .
with the desert rat you can go up to 545cc and TRX style piston (any aftermarket Pistons like CP , Wisco , JE..)
with the boomer you can go up to 570 (565) but you need to have a crf style piston and the best to go with is the CP..
OC there is bigger around but they are a custom made
the gearing is important .. I think you are planning for 21x12x8 paddels .. and I recommend 10 Paddels ballon style skat track ..
So you need like 15 to 38 .. you can go 15 to 36 .. depend on the event .. hill shooting or sand drag.
with this mode you need a good clutch .. stock OEM clutch with stiff springs will be good choice or you can go with Hinson Package .. and you can add also the clutch luckout from direct drive with lixun clear cover .. it will look cool .. but again you should extend the kick starter shaft if you have it on your bike
Lictron 44mm will be good choice .. it is cheaper than the FCR and easier to adjust ...
if you dont need the lights .. you can go with the CRF ignition system + Dyna FS and you should find a place to program the best curve for your engine setting .
adding +2 +3big vavle kit will give you more flow with a porting & polishing job .. also you need to have a mid to high end cam like jonson or webcam.
the best intake system available now is the one that NMotion have.. also you can ask them to make a custom Pipe for you .. Titanium header and carbon fiber silencer .. it is the lightest exhaust system .
I dont know maybe you have other plan .. but at the end you are only the one who knows what you like or what you want ..
