Well i got my 2005 450R last year April 2005. It has almost been a year,today.There are some parts i'm waiting for is a T dub +3 swing arm.(i'll post what i did to it when it's done)

did you get the 3+ swinger to clear the paddles from the healguards or do you have something like a 520kit in there to keep the bike down?

no, the stock swing arm clears the heel guards fine.When you compress the rear end, the heel guards actually clears the tires even better. I havent gotten my +3 swing arm yet, it should be here soon. 2-3 weeks..19's in front because that's how i want my bike to look. Seriously! I wanted it to sit rear end high. front end low - Darius..

the halers are nice but if it is stock you dont need and plus 3 swing aram it isnt going to loop out

I think you will like the plus 3 it will also give your bike a better prostock look. I like how you said because thats the way YOU like it! Keep up the good work

actually it does pop wheelies when i launch it, therefore i am getting +3. On the otherhand, need and want are two different words have different meanings. Sometimes, you need to think about the big picture.You need handling/suspension + power. At my stage i'm getting my +3 so i can handle the power. I dont know if you understand.

Lost.....You should of bought a used banshee. You can ride around camps revving your engine and looking around to see who is looking at your "must be fast ride". lol.gif

What's so funny? Someone has a problem with my Nigear? It's my bike, i make it the way i want it. you dont understand, It's a Project..I cant just buy all the parts at once. It takes time to make $, etc.

Ahhh....people just giving ya sh!t. Don't listen to them. As far as Banshees, ya they're fast, but you're always fukking with them to get them to run right; atleast from what I've seen.

I dont know if some people know how to read, it's a DUNER. not a drag bike.

i'm with drider on this one. i hate it when arrogant people start talking crap on what you have if your's isn't as "built" as theirs are. i'm like you. the only way i get to buy parts is if i can save money after rent, gas, insurance, and the fourwheeler payment. there are some people on here that are working their way through college and can't afford to drop 2 grand a week on their atv. i think your r is gonna look good. i finally got my +3 on and i love it.

I'm sure that some people haven't realized it yet- BUT ALL OF OUR QUADS ARE A PROJECT. If someone were to ever get to the end of their build and realize that they are out of part to put on, the think probably got the piss beat out of it along the way, and now would need all bearings replaced- leading to another rebuild- OH AND GUESS WHAT THAT MEANS- IT BECOMES A PROJECT AGAIN. If you have toys- They will always be projects threw maintanance, building it up, or just cause it is time to refreshen up that pig that you have been riding. I know i have already done more work to mine than I had ever intended, and new parts always catch my eye. Keep up the good work. The only person that has to be happy with YOUR QUAD is YOU!

Dude you started this thread to see what people thought about your project (forums). The way you have it set up is going backwards. Do it to another machine but not a high dollar high tech sport quad.

It's personal prefernece if you go handling / looks first then engine mods or engine mods then handling / looks.

I doing some engine mods to my 06 then I'm going to do some handling mods then take another look at engine performance.

Like many others I can't just do them all at the same time my sponsor won't let me smile.gif

You are doing well with your project , and I think you can do what suit your riding style .. BC it is your Quad and YOU will Ride it and YOU have the right to do what ever you want to do with it .. Listen to the others but take what you THINK IT IS RIGHT.

You ARE JUST STARTING WITH THIS PROJECT AND YOU WILL KEEP UPGRADING .. BUT YOU SHOULD HAVE A PLAN .. DONT THROUGH YOUR MONEY ON TESTING .. BECUASE THE TEST'S ARE DONE BY OTHERS , SOME ONE FAILED AND START TO MAKE OVER .. AND NO ONE ON THE EARTH KNOW'S EVERY THING .. AND NO ONE WAS BORN WITH A HELMET ON HIS HEAD ...!!! START FROM WHERE THE OTHERS ENDS .. ASK YOUR SELF ( WHAT I WANT ) ( WHEN , WHERE, HOW , WHO , WHAT ) THEY ARE GOOD QUESTIONS TO START WITH.

it is just an opinion you can take it or leave it

what I understand from this project that you are looking for a sand quad or a hill shooter..

if you think that you will not clear big airs on dunes .. change the heavy I shocks with the flot Fox air shocks .. you will loose weight and still you can adjust them for your riding style .. they are also much lighter than marvin's

+3" is good idea , but if you think that you will go big you should make it +5" over stock ....

With (BIG) I mean if you will stroke it over 520cc... there are two stroker cranks available right now and you can say ready to go ..
the desert rat 68mm short rod and the boomer 70.4mm long rod .

with the desert rat you can go up to 545cc and TRX style piston (any aftermarket Pistons like CP , Wisco , JE..)

with the boomer you can go up to 570 (565) but you need to have a crf style piston and the best to go with is the CP..

OC there is bigger around but they are a custom made

the gearing is important .. I think you are planning for 21x12x8 paddels .. and I recommend 10 Paddels ballon style skat track ..
So you need like 15 to 38 .. you can go 15 to 36 .. depend on the event .. hill shooting or sand drag.

with this mode you need a good clutch .. stock OEM clutch with stiff springs will be good choice or you can go with Hinson Package .. and you can add also the clutch luckout from direct drive with lixun clear cover .. it will look cool .. but again you should extend the kick starter shaft if you have it on your bike

Lictron 44mm will be good choice .. it is cheaper than the FCR and easier to adjust ...

if you dont need the lights .. you can go with the CRF ignition system + Dyna FS and you should find a place to program the best curve for your engine setting .

adding +2 +3big vavle kit will give you more flow with a porting & polishing job .. also you need to have a mid to high end cam like jonson or webcam.

the best intake system available now is the one that NMotion have.. also you can ask them to make a custom Pipe for you .. Titanium header and carbon fiber silencer .. it is the lightest exhaust system .

I dont know maybe you have other plan .. but at the end you are only the one who knows what you like or what you want ..

I thought you bike was nice when I saw it Darius. It looks good now too. Good luck on getting it all completed. I know it takes time and money, it just seems that there is always more of one that the other.

In your first pic you've got different tires than in the next pic?
I went with wider a arms and axle, also had my stock shocks done at TCS. Made a world of difference in the dunes!
