that's very cool. i started making a mobile ramp by welding my old ramp on to a trailer, then i ran out of money/ ambition. now, my ramp is stuck to a trailer

how did it work for you? i was afraid that the trailer springs would make it bounce around, i was going to put ajustable jacks around the trailer to make it more stable. maybe i don't need to

hey, I have a quick question for you... I went riding yesterday in a cinder pit and there was a large table top there. after I got confortable hitting it I started to try doing the heel clicker but for some reason no matter how hard I try to get it over the bars I just cant do it. Could you offer me some advice about this?? thank you very much

Apr 19 2006, 01:00 AM
I have the exact same problem 808racer....as well as the fact that i find it extremely hard to bring my feet back down to the pegs after they have left them.
808racer
Apr 19 2006, 01:05 AM
hmm I'm not too sure if I can help you there... I just practiced my no-footers alot and it got easier and easier each time. I'm working on a ramp for a school project... hondaracer305 do you think you could suggest anything to me that will help me and my friend witht his??
Quad44
Apr 19 2006, 07:14 PM
To get the heal clickers practice no footer alot to get used to leaving the pegs. then try throwing them more forward and soon you will be doing it. you can try practieing no footed cans the helps with you speed because you have to bring you feet back over the bars

i havent been on the boards too much lately, mostly because of travelling, but i try to drop by as much as possible
808racer, if your building a fullsize metal ramp, you may wanna purchase some detailed ramp plans off of fmxramps.com, but im sure you can find some free plans off www.freestylecomps.com
and if any of you are plannin on gettin into freestyle, to get your basic tricks down, you need to stretch ALOT, main thing. but you also need a ramp big enough, prolly around 30/40 feet so you get enough air to do the trick, and remember, (to go for the clicker) the higher you throw your legs up, the easier it is to get your feet to click around your arms, also, throw your butt far up on and above the gastank, hope this helps.

Jun 5 2006, 02:22 PM
hey thanks, I almost got it down.
Mitco39, I think I know why you have a hard time getting back to the pegs. Do you have nerf bars? if not go ahead and buy some, they're great for safety and for this reason too!

hey steve i was wonderin if you could help me out with cutting my seat grab holes .??? got any close pics
hondaracer305
Dec 9 2006, 07:12 PM
fourfiftyare, my ramp is 8' 6'' to the very top, and it is right at about 22/23' long (not counting the box part). this ramp was built completely custom by me and i had a friend help weld it, i dunno how it turned out as good as it did with no ramp plans and me bein a highschool grad-tard, haha, but she sits PERFECTLY flat on level ground when unfolded, so im kinna happy

but, that wasnt very smart to just go and build it with no plans, cuz you can waste alotta money in metal if you mess up the dimensions, but the most important thing to know is length, height, and a SMOOTH gradual curve, and the rest is pretty basic. it didnt turn out completely perfect, but for an outside project, no shop, im pretty happy.
EXer, what i did when i cut my grab holes, was, if you see the little plastic "dent" right under your butt when you sit down (on 06-07, its the vented part), just cut that out completely, all the way up under your seat, so you can just grab the seat only, instead of a plastic flap. the bigger the holes, the easier it is to just reach back and grab on without grabbin the edge of the plastic and messin you up. heres how i had my OLD plastic when i first started grabbing, note, i didnt have the plastic cut all the way out, you can still see the little plastic piece that seperates your hand from the seat, cut that part out if you decide to chop yours

and before too long, you'll be doin one of these numbers
hondaracer305
Dec 9 2006, 07:16 PM
and after you do grab the seat, you celebrate like this

Dec 9 2006, 11:13 PM

yeah, weather was pretty cheesy up in WA, even inside the dome was freezing, winter stinks for ramptime! everyone rode good, ben and taylor had a little bad luck, but theyre fine and were both riding good. other than that, i learned a few new tricks at joe arrowsmiths house. doublegrab hart action (ill let you guys decide whether its hartattack worthy or not wen i can upload pics), oxecutioners, and 1 hand indy grabs. gotta show lined up huh? keep us updated on how that goes, good luck, keep it crazy

Do these ramps work good for quads or are they ment for bikes? and i notice there are a few designs whats that best, sorry for asking so many questions
hondaracer305
Feb 1 2007, 01:34 PM
those plans work good for bikes and quads both. we use aussy ramps everywhere we go, only difference is an aussy ramp has a constant radius, rev ramps are flat the last few feet. i prefer aussy ramps, cuz thats what im used to now, maybe able to google the plans for that kinna ramp
