Hello and welcome to a review of the PIAA H6M bulb for the TRX450R. I was looking to get some better lighting for my R before I go all the way and get HID. Anywho, there have been some people talking about this particular bulb and how it uses the standard 35watts but puts out a claimed 60. I went down and picked up a pair from my local Honda dealer, may have paid more than I had to but it simplified things. The cost was around 55 bucks, give or take I can't remember. They came in nice containers and was a thrill sure.gif to look at while waiting to put them in.

The procedure for putting these bulbs in is just like any OEM bulb. Listed in the manual it breaks down the steps.

Take hood off
Remove dust boots over bulbs
Twist connecter off bulb and then remove bulb.

The PIAA bulbs went in easily and I soon had everything back together. But, O haha! I bet you thought I forgot to take some before picutres didn't you. I can see the difference but I thought my buddies at .ORG might be interested. Ok, so I don't live in the woods and you'll just have to deal with the garage door check method. I accidentally deleted all my pictures and lost my backups, so I've had to edit this with a different picture, not what was originally here, so some of the disgussion might be different. Sorry

Thanks to 450Ripper for his picture.

<PS> I have no stake in PIAA and am tickled to death that they came out so nice. Haven't rode with them yet but I'm sure they are worth the money. And if you read some of my posts you'll know I'm a little anal about "add ons", that and I'm having a hard time squeasing these nickels together.

I just put mine in too and had the chance to take them for a spin. makes a big difference. i have to agree, anyone that has been looking for a better lighting solution, definitely a good way to go.

very nice review! i'm going to have to do this, I've never liked the factory lights

EDIT: O and don't touch the glass, use a cloth or something to handle the bulbs when putting them in.

I put in these bulbs about 3 weeks ago, and man what a big difference, and they cost alot less than a HID set up. I love the lights, it's well worth the money,(which is relatively cheap) for what you get, i would recomend these to everybody looking for a little more light. Dont forget to aim your lights, from the factory there a little high.

thanks for the review smile.gif

Piaa makes some decent stuff...I run a whole bunch of their offroad lights on my 4x4 rig.

I will have to check in to the bulbs!

edit: do you have the spcific piaa part # of the bulbs. thanks

Your welcome and no I don't know the specific part number. I only ordered it from a dealership and asked for "PIAA H6M" bulbs for a trx450r. smile.gif
I have on the receipt a number but I don't know if it what you need.

The "H6M" is the bulb base, it tells you/us what this bulb fits. The part number, I believe, is 70023.

Here's a link to where you can buy them. I have 4 to guy... 11doh1.gif

Price is def a factor, but when you can get HID for $125, may wanna rethink the options :)

Do the 45/45 work ok off the R's stock stator? I know some bikes have to be upgraded.
