Oil change.

Hello. I have a 07 trx450er. Just changed the oil tonight and let it all drain out and took the filter out and put new one din. New oil. And then started it just it off and it's already black. Why? This is what I do in order.
1 take drain plug out.
2 take oil filter out.
3 wait for it to finish drains till it just drips.
4 crank it for 2-3 second intervals to get the excess oil out
5 put filter in
6 drain plug in.
7 fill it in between high and low.
8 start it.
9 check level and fill as nesccerey.
10 check it again.
By this time the oil is pretty much black. I'm I not doing it right? I just don't understand. Not even one ride on the thing. Please help.

the new oil is just mixing with what's leftover old oil in the engine..... nothing to worry about if you change your oil often.

I used to agree that its normal for the oil to be black after a short amount of time, until i recently changed my piston and rings and now my oil even after a few hours is still a brownish color. So now im not sure how normal it is for it to be black...

I've never had that problem. I run the Rotella white bottle and my oil is just brown when it gets changed. Just change it really often and see if it starts clearing up. It might just be some of the sludge build up from infrequent oil changes. Try warming it up before you change the oil too.
