I use ZEP citrus cleaner. It works really well. Make sure you spray whatever you put on there off really really well.

I use automotive simple green but have also used the ZEP citus cleaner. Both work well. Just spray the entire engine (or quad) and work it in with a small brush. Then rinse off and do it one more time if needed. If you want it to look realy clean (no water spots) use a leaf blower to blow everything dry.

So, you selling the R to get another?

gunk foaming engine cleaner works like a charm with a brush, tooth brush. real good for the grime on the frame that doesnt come off w.o scrubbing.

What I did a few times now is spray some armorall a few places around the engine like the rad hoses, clutch cable and such. I also put some on my shock. It made it shine like new.

I usualy just wash it with a pressure gun and rarely take time to clean it real good. I hand washed it at the begining of the winter. It stays cleaner much longer.

I like winter trail ridding.

Honda Brite, anyone tried it? I used to work for a Honda dealership as a mechanic and we had access to tons of this stuff, we always used it on engine bays when we did a major service. It was meant for a bike, but worked wonders on engine bays. I had a stock of this, but recently ran out.
