Hey guys, new to this, my 2007 trx450er backfires sometimes while starting and sometimes doesn't want to idle, valves and valve lash are all on. It never did it until it started getting cold, should I up my main jet or what?
Do you pump the throttle before you start it? My brother accidently did it like 2-3 times before I started the bike and it back fired very loud. I don't even touch the throttle before or when starting.
What mods are on the bike? That determines what your jetting will need be at. But off hand, a 170mj sounds too rich for a winter tune. As of the air screw, 1/4 to 1/2 turn out should get you to where you need to be for the winter. Check out 'Jetting Questions' in the sticky section and it'll tell you all you need to know about tubing your carb.
