Id clean the carb. May not be letting enough fuel to the engine therefore making it run hot.

Todays 4 strokes run hot and glowing exhaust is normal, the back fire and idle is most def the Pilot jet and/or air fuel screw in carb or leaking exhaust gasket for backfire.

Yeah, I forgot to ad that it could possibly be the fuel screw maybe falling out. But just check the carb over good
