Check your valve adjustment, its a good starting point.

a motor tuned on the lean side will be harder to start as well when hot. try pumping the gas 1 time before you start it hot next time, note before not during do not touch the gas while cranking.

Are you trying to start it in gear with a slightly worn out clutch? Or a bad clutch adjustment? You might be trying to move your quad as well as start it. Try starting it in neutral. Better?

Bad jetting.... Pull the carb and find out what size pilot and main it has in it.

Could be your stator. How long do you usually have to let it sit before it fires up again?

These are all good suggestions. Best mechanical thing to do is check the easiest possible source of the problem first. Kinda like when you don't have spark to check your spark plug before you replace a CDI.. lol.

I'd check all of the above suggestions starting from easiest to hardest. All good info.

i use my hot start all the time it's sad that gen 2s don't have one. Like Derek said, all above suggestions are good, start with the easiest!
