how do i adjust the idle? my trx450er doesn't like to start up right away but, if i ride alot that day and its nice and warm starts right up. hope it's just the idle. where is the idle?

mine has the same problem, ive messed with the idle screw and it didnt really help it much...

lemme know what happens when you adjust it...

Just curious did zibilich or trx450 change your pilot if and when you added a exhaust , I tryed not changing pilot and I had starting issues , one guy on here told me to put choke on , pump throttle twice and kick , and it started on first kick . After that I changed pilot , adjusted and it starts usually 1st kick or 2nd at the most from a cold start

i personaly havnt touched anything on the bike but the idle switch, but no telling what the previous owner did, or what the person who cleaned my carb did..

and i dont wanna dive into the carb changing needles and changing fuel screw not know what or how to do it..

here's what i do from a cold start, push kicker down slow 2-3 times to prime everything. then choke full on, one good hard kick, starts everytime. NO THROTTLE. then after it starts start adjusting down choke until it will idle on its own with no choke, (takes about 30 seconds).

I have a 2007er.. so there is no kicker.. =/

Idle screw is near black knob, near ur choke. Or if not, u could tamper with the throttle on ur bars. My idle screw used to work all the time. Now it just turns and turn and turns but has no effect on the throttle anymore. Any clue as to wat mighta happened?

i have no idea what happened its slowly been getting worse. could it be because i run regular gas? im thinking i have to ajust my pilot

I had a problem with my 05 not wanting to start especially when it was cold out. And it even idled high. My problem was that I needed the valves to be re-shimed. Just a thought if you wanted to check that out.

Dude... like so many of your posts..... I cant figure out what the HAIL your talking about.....

the black knob that adjusts your idle speed is under the RIGHT side of your fuel tank, mounted to the black plastic tank protector.... no where NEAR your choke... which should be a yellow knob on a shaft which protrudes from the LEFT side of your FCR carb.....

why 'your' idle screw no longer has any effect on the throttle is anyone's guess... cuzz we dont know what your talking about when you say "idle screw"??????

well i know that the idle screw on mine is pretty much next to the choke but mine is an 05 and not an fcr so maybe a different carb? because i believe they changed carbs in 06+

What pilot are you running and when you say "regular gas" do you mean 87 octane? That is too low. I hope you mean the "regualr" 93 octane from your local gas station.
