2013 TRX450R (Elec Start) Overview - Honda Powersports
so far ive learned that the new trx is still carburated (which im happy with) i dont think it has a shock upgrade... the difference i see is the wieght and looks. in my opinon i think they should have a carburated model trx and a efi model just my opinion. they definitly need a shock upgrade. i honestly kinda like the blue/white/red colors on the tri color edition trx (even tho it kinda looks like a yamaha but has MAXIMUM HONAD POWER AND RELIABILITY). they have a regular looking trx and the tri color edition, the regular trx is red with a white hood. tell me what you guys think

Personally I could give a rats ass because I already have a super sick bike almost built and I wouldnt want another any way, But I have heard many stories about carbed engines make more power, way easier to tune, and weigh less because you dont have all that computer crap in there. I have no problem taking a few min to mess with some jetting but I would hate having to figure out where my issue is when I have all these wires and what not to diagnose when you get a problem. Most likely not a very well spoken sentence but thats how I see it.

I wouldn't trade my FCR for an EFI set up.

the 2013 is the exact same thing as the 08 with different colors. anybody who wants efi has never had anything modded with efi. carbs make more power and are lighter and easier to tune than efi anyway. aluminum frame would be really cool and cut some weight. also they need a new engine design, the current transmission sucks

carbs only make more power when you're talking about high output motors. The FI and aluminum framed YFZ's and the LTR's have no trouble making enough power to run in MX and XC as well as TT and FT races. I don't know many racers that run stock LTR's or YFZ's, so i'm pretty sure they are modding them and gaining power.

The straight line drag guys looking for 60+ horsepower are the ones who have trouble with the FI machines.

It's time for honda to make an FI/AF model, they're way over due.
