That's a conflicting question.
12 front will lower the gearing (higher numerically) and make the quad feel like it has more power, but the top speed will be lower. 13 front will raise the gearing (lower numerically) and make the quad faster on top-end, but it will feel like it has less power and take longer to get there. What type of riding? XC? MX? Trail? Dunes? Stunt? Put one sprocket on, ride it for a while, take 10 minutes and put the other sprocket on and ride it for a while again. Use whatever one feels better to you.

I would run the 13. That 12 is going to pull up too easy and wind out too fast. I run a 15 on mine hehehe

Also, should I go with the 13t or 14t? Or what kind? For top speed and power

The 13 is a pretty well rounded sprocket. If you have a 13, run it and if you want more top end buy a 14 then. And by "wind out" I mean it will reach top speed too fast and it will be a pain to shift because you will have to always be shifting.

Wind out = nearing the rev limiter too soon

He was changing the question to include the 14T sprocket also now since I told him not to go with the 12T. And for brand, I would suggest Renthal, Sunstar, JT, Pro Taper, or another brand name.

Dude, I know you're just trying to understand, but read what hoser said. Smaller front = more bottom and less speed. Bigger front = less bottom and more speed. You can't have it both ways with just gearing. And it's the exact opposite in the back. Bigger sprocket =more bottom, less speed. Smaller = less bottom, more speed. 1 tooth smaller in the front = roughly 3 teeth bigger in the back. So if you change back sprockets it's a less drastic change. Personally, I would stick with 13/38 until you make more power.
