How To Get Sponsors For ATV Racing

Whether you're a first-time racer or a seasoned veteran, having the right team of sponsors and supporters in your corner is essential to putting together a winning program. In a difficult economy, it's all the more important to make yourself stand out from the crowd and show a company why you're a worthwhile investment.

In terms of representation, running a sponsor's sticker and saying thanks from the podium is a given. If you want to wow a sponsor you've got to offer a level of exposure or promotion that sets you apart.

I'm a member of "Hookit" (website listed in the article) and it's helped me a lot in requesting sponsorships. When you start an account, you fill out an application which is used to submit sponsorship requests through the website. You will also fill out your events you have competed in and track your results as well as posting your practice sessions. There are alot of great reputable companies involved with the website. It's a great tool for racers at any level; especially with the tough economic times.

HookIt is a VERY good site! It's helped me alot! I've also had the chance to meet some very cool people on there. Another good idea is just go around to the local shops and ask them if they are looking for any riders to represent them. Our sport has plenty of good people that are looking to help someone who needs it. What does it hurt a shop to give you some stickers and a few parts off the shelf. It doesn't matter if it's $10 grips or $100 tires. Thats $10 you can put towards your next race. Every little bit counts in the long run. A 10% discount doesn't seem like much but it really adds up when your short on cash.
