Thinking of buying a 250r

its an 87 frame with an 89 motor. hes not sure what all has been done to the motor. it does has +2 a arms and axle and it has an fmf pipe. it has a fuel leak and needs new rear dirt tires ... it has good plastic and looks like a clean bike. hes wanting $3500 for it but i will be trading a bass boat for it and didnt know what his is worth ive never been around them... i own a 400ex and a 450r... can anybody tell me what his is worth or tell me anything about 20rs? i cant upload a picture or i would sorry

depending on condition 1500-3000. lets see some pics... the 250R was the greatest race quad for almost 20 years

Prices on 250r's range wildly. I would really need to see pics to give you an idea of what it would be worth in MY area. In stock form, they're ok, but once you mod the suspension and motor like mine is, they're unbelieveable.

Based on the pics and from what I can see, it would bring around $2k in my neck of the woods.

Sounds high, on the west coast I recently sold a 250R that was raced in the old Mickey Thompson stadium series in the 80s and 90s for a little over $3K, it had Fox LT suspension, a full race motor and was in great shape, I am thinking $2K ish for what you describe.

Looks to be in good shape at least. As most have said, i wouldn't pay $3500 for it but if you can get him down, looks like a good buy. Good luck.
