i am wandering if a 400ex stem will fit a 450r? thanks for any info

A 400ex stem will work. I have one on my 05 450R. All you need is the 400ex upper steering stem clamp and bushing. The bottoms are the same and I didn't even have to adjust my tie rods. Let me know if you want to see pics.

are both of these stems the same lenght?

I'm using a Roll Design 400ex +1 stem and it's about 2" taller than my stock stem (measuring just the stem and not the clamps all the way down to where the fat part of the stem ends and the shaft for the bearings begins right below the tie rod tabs / steering stops). I believe the 450R stem is 1 1/8" and the 400ex is 1" diameter (the stem is chromoly so I could care less about the 1/8"). I talked to OMI and they said they can make me a greasable 450R upper clamp with the 400ex diameter next time they make a run of their clamps and will send me an email before they do. Anyways, here's a few pics of everything...
