Someone ran into me a week ago and one of my front rotors is very slightly bent(among A-arm and rim). I cant hardly justify spending the money for new ones and I was curious if anyone had ever had ATV rotors machined so they are true.

very good question
something I was wondering myself
I couldn't see a reason you can't turn them. I would take it to a brake place and see what they think. Try someone with knowledge however, cause if they just want to make a buck....well they'll turn anything.

I couldn't see why not. After mine start looking like crap and I need new pads, I would want to turn mine aswell, just like my truck.
However, if they were bent at all, I think I would spend the money on some new/used ones. I dunno, that's just me though. If they are bent I wouldn't want to waste money turning bent discs. Try EBay for some take offs, that would be my route if the ones I had were bent.

Thanks for the advice, but it turns out my rotors are true and straight. There is still a dead spot on the side that I got hit on, the hub turns quite a bit harder than it should on the left side. Now Im thinking my spindle is bent just a little, but not sure. As far as the rotors, I did take them to Napa where I know the little cutie behind the counter, and they could'nt turn them down if they wanted to. Supposedly they're too small. ???

When it comes to the rotors, I would be weary of turning them. The effiency of the brakes comes with the ability of the rotors to get rid of the heat. Wenever you go thinner or smaller diameter on rotors, you are taking away from the ability to rid itself of heat. Thus making them more prone to fading and warping. If you are not racing and using your brakes to their full potential, then there shouldnt be much of a problem with getting them turned. That is just my opinion.

I have experience using the machines to turn rotors and I dont think it would be possible to mount it firmly to the spinning bar. Plus there way to thin to be turning.

yea, they're way too thin to be turning. as cheap as rotors can be, either 1) beat it with a rubber mallet and straighten it or buy a new one from one of the sponsors or RMATV.
