well, im lookin at finally gettin something new in line of wheels for the 450. i am considering the hipers. does anyone know how much weight they will save vs the stockers? its between those and the itp bajas. i know the hipers are a much better built wheel, but the itps would suit my needs just fine and are quite a bit less dinero. anyways, if the weight savings with the hipers is substantial ill go that way. im lookin at keeping around the same tire size with some holeshots or something so that shouldnt be a major factor (i wouldnt think). also does anyone know the exact size of the wheels? i would look at mine but it is about a 2 hour drive away from me right now
. any help is appreciated.....Thanks....Sam.

I would stay away from the Bajas..... if you jump or race on a track at all.....they will bend.... one way or the other.... maybe not right on the lip....but the center hub will bend.... ITP wheels are just too soft....
go with Hiper.....or a Douglas with OMF bead rings.....(looks sweeet)....either way you will be ahead of the game.... jmho....Greg

compared to stock wheels my hipers are twice as heavy!! there not lighter than standard wheels since the hipers are beadlock wheels they are lighter than a aluminum beadlock wheels but itp wheels just plain suck donkey **** and the douglas black blue and red label suck donkey nuts but the douglas yellow labels are the best aluminum wheels just the plain standard douglas ultimate yellow labels or you can get the ultimate beadlocks or the regular ultimates with the billet center just different variations BUT dont buy any ITP wheels or the douglas black blue red labeld they all suck and will not last!!!

oh and on the sizes stock wheel sizes are 10x5 fronts with a 3.5+1.5 offset the rears are 9x8 with 3.5+4.5 offset for the douglas i would get 10x5 fronts with 3+2 offset and the rears come in 9X9 i think and get the 3+6 offset and for tires i would go with kenda klaws alot better wearing tire that the holeshots and there alot cheaper and there light in weight compared to other 6 plys and for sizes the stock tire sizes are 22x7x10 front and 20x10x9 rears i would go with 21x7x10 front kenda klaws and 20x11x9 kenda klaw rears
that is just my .02 |

hmm i was just guessing around about how much the difference was lol i was pretty close lol in fact almost dead on!!! but if you start pulling your tires off your rims like i was then you'll want the beadlocks because when you pull the tire off the rim in the middle of the race and it goes flat on ya then thats the race for you DNF i hate those!!!! so if your going for the best wheel then hipers but for anything else douglas is the second best followed by the stockers |

I like the Hipers. If you don't want to buy the Hipers, just stick with stock. |

albeit good, hipers are too expensive for me and not really needed. My baja's work perfectly fine and the fronts have been on the bike for almost a year with no signs of bending, breaking, deformity, anything. The rears have been on for almost half a year and dont have anything wrong with them either. Thats why most quads i see in the baja run ITP baja's, they arent that expensive, and easy to come by. I havent seen many baja bikes running beadlockers. But there are some.

I have had no problems with my Baja's either. In three desert races this year, have bent one front and one rear, both at the same race. (Extremely rocky course.) The rear was from when my Partner went end over end on the quad. (Bent the center of the wheel. The hit was so hard it also bent the stock hub.) The front was either from hitting a BIG rock at speed, or the same crash as before, not sure the cause, did not notice it untill about a week after the race. I do not think any wheel would have done much better.

get some of these..... :D
my personal experience......if you can bend a red label Douglas.....then you probably did other damage to your quad.....like bent axle, broken hub, or torn studs.......jmho....Greg [attachmentid=15663]
